A version of the piece appears in the film Allegro Non Troppo (1976). During the film a character asks "Did you ever do it to Ravel's Boléro?" It featured heavily in French film Les Uns et les Autres (1981), with a ballet performance by Jorge Donn. Ice skaters Torvill and Dean used a version of the piece as accompanying music for their record-scoring and winning performance at the 1984 Winter Olympics.
