In Cline's piece, Liebig has given the guitarist an architectural largesse within which all of the differing chromatic paradoxes of that instrument may reveal themselves as harmonic or chromatic possibilities for the ensemble to reach (a mirror image almost from the Dresser work). For all its squealing, ripping excess, Cline's guitar has a firm hold on the melodic considerations of his own hearing, and the result for the listener is no less than thrilling. Ultimately, this disc proves a pleasant, revelatory surprise for those who thought Liebig mainly a fine bassist.

Steuart Liebig, born 1956, is an American bassist and composer of modern creative jazz and the free improvisational music. He mostly plays doublebass. Liebig grew up in Los Angeles and was influenced as a child by rock and blues music of the 1960s. He first started playing jazz in highschool. He started experimenting with different sounds in college and between 1974-1976 he belonged to John Beasley's band.

Le Passage is the name of the second studio album recorded by French singer Jenifer Bartoli. It was released on June 1, 2004 and contains the hit singles "Ma Révolution" and "Le Souvenir de ce jour". It became a top three album in France and Belgium (Wallonia). Famous artists such as Marc Levy, Calogero and Kyo participated in the writing of the record. Liebig took advantage of the fluidity of his fretless six-string bass and also managed to avoid an artistic debt to that oft-imitated master of the instrument, the late Jaco Pastorious. A major concern of Steuart Liebig’s is space; acknowledging it, defining it, dividing it up.
