Disc 1 is the Original 1965 movie soundtrack album, with 16 tracks sequenced as the songs appear in the movie. Disc 2 features extended versions of selected songs as heard in the film, numbers not included on the Original Soundtrack Album, and an interview with composer Richard Rodgers. Although future Soundtrack re-issues (one about every five years) would combine everything to one disc for a total of around 27 tracks, this 2 disc presentation provides a unique listening experience. The original CD release of the movie sound track was so very terribly awful, I couldn't listen to it all the way through.

Originally released on Atlantic Records' Cotillion label as a triple album on May 11, 1970, it was re-released as a two-CD set in 1994.
