Aaron Funk (born January 11, 1975), known as Venetian Snares, is a Canadian electronic musician based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is widely known for innovating and popularising the breakcore genre, and is one of the most recognisable artists to be signed into Planet Mu, an experimental electronic music label. Funk's twelfth (!) record for Planet Mu, Filth has ten tracks of manic glitchcore that positively gallop along, with beats running at quicktime while Funk throws all manner of distorted synth, detuned samples, and colliding breakbeats at a pace that's capable of provoking motion sickness. Aside from the usual displays of accomplishment, "Chainsaw Fellatio" stands out, beginning with some pounding hardcore but later detouring into a batch of impressive clapping techno-funk.
