He then composed additional instrumentation around this structure, in the process revealing the natural cadence and harmony within each phrase. On It Can Feel So Good, Zammuto built a tuned array of PVC pipes and a device that holds a small speaker in the optimal position for re-recording sounds though them (pictured on the Veryone's cover)

Full Fading Sprouting from the same mind that created the Books - one of the most acclaimed and innovative groups of the past decade - Zammuto marks a deep reinvention of the highly detailed, genre-defying spirit that made seminal albums such asThe Lemon of Pink and The Way Out possible. Making music that sounds and feels like no one else is nothing new for Zammuto, but making music that doesn't even sound like his own past is a whole other impressive feat in itself.

Zammuto is an American indie rock band, formed in Readsboro, Vermont, United States, in 2011. In April 2012, Zammuto released their debut album, Zammuto, with the Brooklyn, New York-based record label, Temporary Residence Limited. Nick Zammuto, the founder of the band, was once part of the duo The Books. After their collaboration ended in 2011, Nick Zammuto began the next phase of his musical career.

In 1999, guitarist Nick Zammuto and cellist Paul de Jong combined their talents and old-media sound archives as the Books. Both were AV geeks with honorary degrees in mad science, and together, they became experimental paleontologists of the audio fossil record. They took what John Oswald and Negativland had wrought and rendered it approachably musical, not to mention legal. It's revealed as more personal in the wake of Zammuto's recent admission to Pitchfork that he suspected the title's aptness even as they were making the record. Listening again, we can hear Zammuto and de Jong poignantly trying, via self-mesmerism, to reconcile their attachment to the project with the growing conviction that it was tapped out. I saw them perform The Way Out in 2010, synched with kaleidoscopic videos.

Nick Zammuto spent over ten years as one half of the popular indie band The Books, before the group split up in 2012. No Needle, Just A Haystack' is . ammuto. The amazing filmmaker Garret Harkawik followed us around for the last few years and made this film. There's a new track, too, called 'My Dog's Eyes'. ute-doc-no-needle-. theplaylist. It was a bittersweet announcement for fans, but the goods new was that one-half of the duo, Nick Zammuto, got started right way on his new project, appropriately titled Zammuto.

Notes

Last track not listed on back-cover.

The plate tracks were made by playing various sounds through a subwoofer attached to the back of a large circular steel plate. Using test tones I was able to find the natural tuning of the plate (roughly pentatonic) which forms the basis of the melodies. (I still think it's some of my best work, so please check it out.)

The other three tracks are from the days when I was living in New York City, around when I first met Paul. They are drunken, obnoxious, and serene, in exactly that order.
