The Icelandic band Stafrænn Hákon was born in 2001 as a lo-fi experimental project and has been steadily evolving ever since. Today its a full band which incidentally has released its 11th album titled Aftur. Aftur follows 2017's self-released instrumental album Hausi and two Darla released full length albums Eternal Horse and Sanitas.

Stafrænn Hákon is an Icelandic Atmospheric rock band. Since 1999 they have released 10 full length album along with several EP´s. We are happy to announce our new album. The mini album eignast jeppa (receives a jeep) was homemade and sold at the late Hljomalind records store, thanks to & Vigar for putting it up in the shop and supporting it. The cd was revolutionary in the homemade music market in Iceland at this point, and Stafraenn gained small attention for his lo-fi enterprise of the release. eignast jeppa was in 2003 picked up by the . based independent label Secret Eye and reissued with 2 bonus tracks. This is the Japanese version of the new Stafraenn Hakon album on Nature Bliss Records, due for release in the UK and US on Resonant Records in April " by the legendary Wire magazine. Stafraenn Hakon has indeed through the last 6 years been described as a mix of post-rock lo-fi, ambient guitar & electronica.
