The Ghymes band - consisting of Hungarians living in Slovakia - was founded at the College of Education in Nitra in 1984, by musicians with different preliminary musical experiences from classical through rock and Renaissance music. The years past have been like a "musical purgatory" for them. Folk elements have gradually clung together with their own individual musical ideas and GHYMES MUSIC was born.

Anniversary and album premiere concert. The Ghymes band holds its 25th Anniversary Concert in the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, starting at 8pm, January 10th, 2009. This occasion will also will be the concert premiere of the new Ghymes album titled „Álombálom („My Dream Ball ), which is to be released at the beginning of November. The evening’s guests will be: Sándor Fábry performer, the Honvéd Táncszínház (Honvéd Dance Theatre Company) (coreographer: Zoltán Zsuráfszky) and the Budapesti Ifjúsági Kórus (Budapest Youth Choir) (conductor: Ágnes Gerenday).
