October 31 ·. Due to the high number of requests for news about the new album, "Earth II", it is definitely a good idea to give a small update. For many reasons (personal and not), there has been a slight delay in the process and, at the moment, a reasonable release date has shifted to Jannuary/February 2019. Radok is fully back in business with the mix/master process and I have completed the lyrics (which still have to be recorded) dy for the press.

Unfortunately for Earth and Pillars, the impression made on Earth I consists of mostly a sense of relief upon the album's close. After a generally wasted five minutes of the atmospheric noise that makes up Earth, the band finally gets going with the seventeen minute Rivers - which is probably about fifteen minutes too long. A whirring and droning beehive of damp and melodic, monotonous notes make up the muddy guitar line, mushed against the background keyboards into a dense fog of murk.

Earth and Pillars create a massive sound, with all the instruments combining to create a fantastic atmosphere. The guitar sound is immense, a huge wall of sharp and trebly distorted riffs, with some high pitched almost psychedelic tremolo picking over the top. A lot of melody comes from this picking as well as the gorgeous wall of synth, while the low end is massive too. The bass rumbles away with a great rhythm in time with the drums which you’d never believe are processed. The album is mostly mid-paced, and the melodies are really strong, bristling with the energy and raw power of nature. You can almost smell the scent of the rain as it pounds down among the trees, the earthy atmosphere they create is so vivid. This also makes their softer sections more effective, like the gleam of sunlight breaking through as the rain dies down, and the delayed guitar melody on Rivers is a lovely if still haunting break.

Album · 2015 · 4 Songs. Earth I Earth and Pillars. Death Metal/Black Metal.

And if this is not one of the meanings of awesome, then I don't know what to say. Elderwind- Волшебство живой природы (The Magic of Nature). Alot of Atmospheric Black Metal bands tend to sound really dark and depressed, but not Elderwind. Earth and Pillars- Earth I. This album sounds like nature. It's deep, huge and melodic. Like Elderwind, it's a quite bright themed album, with synths and natural sounds sampling, and really hypnotic guitar riffs that just sound awesome. If you're the type who like listening to music while hiking in the woods, you'll probably enjoy this album as much as I have (a lo. Burzum- Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. This is the album that got me into black metal. Harsh vocals, saturated guitars, cold synths and a really gloomy ambience.

Sounds very flat and lacks dynamic range. Sadly, this pressing does not seem to have been mastered for vinyl.
