Songs from the West Coast is the twenty-sixth studio album by British singer-songwriter Elton John, released worldwide on 1 October 2001. Many critics have said that this album brought him back to his piano-based musical roots. Elton once again collaborated with long-time lyricist Bernie Taupin. Drummer Nigel Olsson returns to the band full-time. Tata Vega makes an early appearance as a backup vocalist and joined the EJ band later
John McCormack (14 June 1884 - 16 September 1945), was a world-famous Irish tenor in the fields of opera and popular music, and renowned for his flawless diction and superb breath control. John Francis McCormack was born in Athlone, Ireland, the fourth of eleven children of Andrew and Hannah Watson on 14 June 1884, and was baptised in St. Mary's Church, Athlone on 23 June 1884. His father was employed in Athlone Woollen Mills. John received his early education from the Marist Brothers in Athlone, and later attended Summerhill College, Sligo.
Joris Voorn sits at the epicenter of the Dutch electronic music scene, the most renowned and instantly recognisable artist from Holland, representing underground house and techno on a wider global stage. For a country with a population of just seventeen million Holland’s contribution to world electronic music is unsurpassed. While house and techno trace their roots to the marginal and mainly black American underground, its taken a relatively small country in the European lowlands to flip electronic music on its head and turn it into the global powerhouse it is today
All the best and new Joris Voorn songs are added to the collection of Allsongs. Besides Joris Voorn song The Monk listen to popular songs of this and other artists. New music every day! ALLSONGS.
is the seventh album Thelonious Monk released for Columbia Records, featuring several original compositions as well as jazz standards. The track "Pannonica" is a tribute to the jazz patron Nica de Koenigswarter. The track "Teo" is a tribute to the albums' producer Teo Macero. The album cover is a photo of Monk taken by W. Eugene Smith in 1959. Between 1957 and 1965, Monk and other prominent New York jazz musicians rehearsed at the photographer's home, nicknamed 'The Jazz Loft'.
Joris' music is deep, lusty and sensorial to the most, no pretentiousness but GOOD songs, some of them excellent. I support 100% this artist as the next big thing outta Europe besides the Kompakt guys & Ellen Allien. Techno as one of the belle arts.
