Description

Best of Rockin' Ramrods.

PUFF (1968) Puff was the 1968 extension-group of the Rockin Ramrods with songs written by founding Ramrods leader Vin Campisi and featured.

The Rockin’ Ramrods were an American garage rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, who were active in the 1960s and early 1970s. Along with The Barbarians, the Remains and the Lost, they were one of the most popular acts in the Boston area

Who does a Rockin' Ramrods comp and leaves off the all-time '60s punk classic "She Lied," not to mention five of their other single tracks? Even worse, it's replaced by crappy songs by Puff, who were only tangentially related. This should have just been the complete singles to go along with the unreleased Ramrods tracks. A major disappointment and, unfortunately, the only legit Ramrods reissue out there. Reply See 1 reply Notify me Helpful.

A wealth of genuine Rockin' Ramrods unreleased material from their 1966-67 prime that has circulated among a few '60s/garage collectors was not tapped at all. Though less comprehensive, much harder to find, and of lower fidelity, the French import on Eva - which includes both sides of every one of their eight early singles - still gets the no. .but those flaws may convince some fans to go for this collection instead. Along with The Barbarians, the Remains and the Lost, they were one of the most popular acts in the Boston area. While they did not achieve national success, their work is today well-regarded by garage rock collectors and enthusiasts. They are perhaps best remembered for the 1964 protopunk anthem "She Lied.

I was seventeen and I was trying to make a song that sounded like Heat Wave by Martha and the Vandellas. At the time, I also had this idea that I would incorporate random everyday elements or observations into all the songs I wrote. I know. But it doesn't change the finished product, sadly. Ace continues to do great work.

ACE BIGBEAT had no say in the matter. Talked to Alan Lorber the cd producer. It was his way or no go.

Tracks 3 & 4 were indeed released on a 45 by the Rockin' Ramrods on Claridge Records.
