Wishbone Ash fans have been awaiting Elegant Stealth for decades. For all those Ash devotees out there, don't take this the wrong way; Andy Powell and friends have been chugging along with strikingly consistent albums for over forty years. Even after the "core" band broke up, several times, Wishbone Ash lived on and released albums with technique and style that most other musicians would kill to achieve. Elegant Stealth is, among all other things, exactly that: a refreshingly honed album hearkening back to the band's early history accompanied by an innovative freshness that will make you smile at every turn. You will hear a vast array of mind-bending guitar solos; you will experience harmonies that rival that of the bands' greatest vocal work; but, most importantly, you will experience these things to a degree that, simply put, is unexpected and completely bewildering.

The band's latest album, 'Elegant Stealth,' is scheduled for a Nov. 25 release, breaking a four-year drought between studio recordings and offering 11 new songs from one of the most influential British groups of the rock era. Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash helped pioneer the twin-guitar sound later popularized by countless rock acts, from the Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd to Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden. Elegant Stealth' follows a flurry of live activity for the current Wishbone Ash lineup, which features Powell, guitarist Muddy Manninen, bassist Bob Skeat, and drummer Joseph Crabtree. The band will tour behind the album for six weeks starting January, followed by a planned series of American dates in April.
