Neil Young is the self-titled debut studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young following his departure from Buffalo Springfield in 1968, issued on Reprise Records. Some sources place the album's release date on January 22, 1969, while other sources have the release date as Young's 23rd birthday, November 12, 1968. It was then partially remixed and re-released in November 1969, but at no time has the album ever charted on the Billboard 200.

Young spent the majority of 1976 on the road with Crazy Horse or on the ill-fated Stills-Young Band tour, which he famously dropped out of midway through that summer.

What's going on with this release information (r2429209)? Nothing in the Notes to indicate the obvious differences that are listed & the images shown on the label. Where did all the track times come from & why are all the track titles different from the those listed on the labels? Can anyone one explain? Should this release be edited & changed? I see this is an unofficial release, but the info appears to be the poster's interpretation and not info that can be verified. Replies appreciated.

Most copies were busted and destroyed in 1980. The few surviving examples were returned to the bustee in 1981 since they weren't technically illegal in Canada. These "rescued" copies were sold off at the time.
