Her newest album, Abbar el Hamada, produced by Glitterbeat Records is succinctly dedicated to "my people, after forty years of occupation, exile and diaspora. The musicians on the album reflect Brahim's desire to create a more universal sound. Aside from those who appeared on her last album – Guillem Aguilar (bass), Ignasi Cusso (guitar) and Kalilou Sangare (guitar) – she's joined by Senegalese percussionist Sengane Ngom and Senegal and Gambian-trained drummer Aleix Tobias. The core group is rounded out by guest musicians Samba Toure (guitar), Xavi Lozano (flute) and Badra Abdallahi singing harmonies. Brahim not only sings, but also supplies percussion on the tabal (a Catalonian drum).
