On this album, the titular Nigel leaves his small town to stake his claim in a nameless metropolis where he finds success but then succumbs to a drug addiction. Head matches every step of his journey with music that leaps between styles and moods, all the better to showcase his malleable vocals. The pastoral folk of Ruthie sits right next to the hopped up rock of City Scurry while the closing pair of tunes ( Religion and Junk ) are multi-tiered prog epics  .

Greg Land (born 1956) is a controversial American comic book artist, best known for his work on books such as Uncanny X-Men, Birds of Prey, and Fantastic Four. Greg Land first got a job with an independent publisher as the artist for StormQuest after advertising himself at a Mid-Ohio Con comic convention. After that, he was hired by DC Comics in 1999 to finish the covers for Birds of Prey, based on the sketches of Brian Stelfreeze. He also had runs as interior penciler on both Birds of Prey and Nightwing.

Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. What with the filthy Ethel Merman joke, the discussion of Frida from Abba's strange hand-clapping technique on a late 70s broadcast of Chiquitita and all the heart-rending songcraft, the interlude where John Grant introduces the musicians shouldn't really linger in the mind tonight after his fine performance ends. There are five in the band. Apart from keyboard player Chris Pemberton, who hails from Coventry, Grant has multiple Icelandic names to get through, dense with exotic polysyllables
