The Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album is an award presented at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1985 and originally called the Gramophone Awards, to recording artists for quality works in the reggae music genre.

Since 1998 it has been awarded as Best Spoken Word Album. The category now also includes audio books, poetry readings and story telling. Three US Presidents have won the award: Jimmy Carter (who has won the award three times), Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, along with spoken recordings of John F. Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Senators have won: Barack Obama, Everett Dirksen, Al Franken (won prior to his election), and Hillary Clinton (won when she was First Lady). Years reflect the year in which the Grammy Awards were handed out, for a recording released in the previous year  .

The best music of 2016. 16. Drive-By Truckers - American Band. 78. The Soft Cavalry.

Sunflower Bean lands on the cool-New-York-chic end of the genre's spectrum. Fronted by bassist and singer Julia Cumming, the band touches on some of the great traditions of New York rock, from psych to metal to noise to garage. It's exactly what you would expect from artists who grew up on playlists of Sonic Youth and the Strokes. 27. Joey Purp - iiiDrops. In trying times, Chance the Rapper released the most optimistic album of the year, filled with honesty, confidence, and lush choir-and-horns compositions. This is the gospel-rap album Kanye never made. And what Chance does is back up his immense talent as a rapper, producer, and songwriter with equal ability as a performer. Live, he plays with a full group of musicians, acting as more of a bandleader than a rapper.

Four artists have won the Album of the Year award more than once. Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon have each won the award three times, while U2 has won it twice. Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder are the only artists to win in consecutive years. Two of the winning albums are not musical, The Button-Down Mind (1961) by Bob Newhart and The First Family (1963) by Vaughn Meader are comedy albums. Album of the Year (2010s).

Teflon Don is the Miami MC's best album yet: a sleek, seductive portrait of a badass rapper living a life of South Florida luxury. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, and Erykah Badu make cameos, and Ross shows why he's a rapper's rapper, dropping quotable rhymes - "I wanna walk in the image of Christ, but that bitch Vivica nice" - in his bassy, bulldozer flow. The best arena-rock album of the year.
