Lila Downs' Shake Away is easily the most polished and refined release since she released Ofrenda in 1994. By turns, it is also the most ambitious. Co-produced by Downs, longtime collaborators Paul Cohen, Brian Lynch, and Aneiro Taño, these 16 songs (13 plus three bonus cuts) are a wild mix of cumbias, folks songs, rancheras, blues, and rock tunes that are originals and covers. But duets and collaboration aren't the only focus of this album; in fact, it's a sprawling set of tunes whose reach is almost limitless: "Silent Thunder" employs both reggae and funk but combines them with traditionally informed Mixtec chants. The skittering, scattershot blues of "Minimum Wage" offers a new element in Downs' recorded vocabulary - with great guitar work by Ken Basman and Juancho Herrera.

Lila Downs' Shake Away is easily the most polished and refined release since she released Ofrenda in 1994. The latter include an excellent and wildly unusual reading of "Black Magic Woman" with Raul Midón

Shake Down is the debut studio album by the British blues rock band Savoy Brown. It was released in 1967 (on Decca SKL 4883) under the name of Savoy Brown Blues Band and is mainly an album of covers, featuring three songs penned by blues singer Willie Dixon. In addition to Dixon, the band covers John Lee Hooker and . "I Ain't Superstitious" (Willie Dixon) – 3:25. Let Me Love You Baby" (Dixon) – 3:00.

Shake away, shake away All the dry and loose skin All the anger and the hate Like a rattlesnake. Take me away To the wind of November You are my thunder My path and my voice. Take me away To the place in your story 'Cause I can taste Bitterness in your tongue. Can you hear me, mama? Can you hear me, sister? Can you hear me, child? Can you hear me, mama? Can you hear me, sister? Can you hear me, child? Shake away, shake away All the many sorrows Slide away, slide away Like a rattlesnake.

Shake Away (Spanish: Ojo de Culebra) is the sixth studio album by Mexican singer-songwriter Lila Downs. It was released on September 2, 2008 on Manhattan Records. In the vein of her earlier work, the album is heavily influenced by latin pop, world music, flamenco and rock.
