Normie Rowe, AM (born 1 February 1947, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian singer and actor. Between 1965 and 1967 Rowe was Australia's most popular male star but his career was cut short when he was drafted for compulsory military service (called National Service in Australia) in late 1967. His subsequent tour of duty in Vietnam effectively ended his pop career and he was never able to recapture the success in music he enjoyed at his peak, and instead carving out a career in theatre.
Norman John Rowe AM (born 1 February 1947) is an Australian singer and songwriter of pop music and an actor of theatre and soap opera for which he remains best known as Douglas Fletcher in 1980s serial Sons and Daughters. Many of Rowe's most successful recordings were produced by Nat Kipner and later by Pat Aulton, house producers for the Sunshine Records label
Normie Rowe AM, Australia’s biggest pop star of the sixties. It’s 50 years since Normie Rowe last performed the entire concert on his own in a theatre in Sydney. He’s performed in thousands of clubs and dozens of theatres in shows and headlined concerts with other artists. But this is different! This is the soundtrack of Normie's career from the teen hysteria era of Shakin’ All Over through the theatrical triumph of Les Miserables. This one night only performance at The Concourse Theatre, Chatswood will be special.
