Greenpeace – The Album is a multi-artist compilation album that was released in June 1985 to raise funds and awareness for the environmental organisation Greenpeace.

All proceeds from sales of this album will go to Greenpeace to continue their fight in defence of the planet. A Native American prophecy tells that the peoples of the world will unite as Warriors of the Rainbow, to save the planet from destruction by greed and careless exploitation. The environmental pressure group Greenpeace was inspired by this to call its flagship Rainbow Warrior. The musicians on this album have donated these recordings to Greenpeace, because they know that the time of the Rainbow Warriors has arrived

Greenpeace: Rainbow Warriors" - Various Artists. This compilation was put together by Greenpeace for funding Greenpeace campaigns and infrastructure. The name of the album was Breakthrough in Russia, where it was initially released in March of 1989. This was the first ever pop compilation of western artists released in the Soviet Union, and it reportedly sold 500,000 copies in Russia on the day of release alone. The proceeds from the album sales were used to provide the start-up investment to begin a Russian branch of Greenpeace. The artists involved all donated their tracks to the album. Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior. Haven't seen the boat and team but I've talked to one of the warriors nd one day my wife and I would like to join you guys in the mission of saving this one beautiful world of ours reaching out to help the voiceless. More power to all of you!

The crew of the Rainbow Warrior in 1985 - Bunny is second from the right. I did not know much about Greenpeace when I joined the Warrior, I just liked what she was going to do - an anti nuclear campaign in the Pacific. The first stop was helping 350 Rongelap islanders move from their home island to another island 40 miles away because of the radiation contamination from US nuclear testing. Boats are important to Greenpeace, they are extraordinary tools of our trade, making the invisible visible, often they are what connects us all, and the crew is certainly a strong expression of our internationalism. We will never all agree what is the next best Rainbow Warrior to have but I am glad we are building her. -Bunny.
