Nails is an American hardcore punk band from Oxnard, California. The group was formed in 2009 by frontman Todd Jones, formerly the guitarist of Terror, along with bassist John Gianelli and drummer Taylor Young of Disgrace. They released their debut EP Obscene Humanity in 2009, followed by the studio albums Unsilent Death (2010), Abandon All Life (2013) and You Will Never Be One of Us (2016) and a split EP with Full of Hell.

The Nails were originally a five-piece new wave band that formed in Boulder, Colorado in 1976. In Colorado, they were originally named The Ravers, and their roadie, Eric Boucher, later became known as Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys. The band members were Marc Campbell (lead vocals, guitar), Dave Kaufman (keyboards), Al Leis (drums), Artie Freeman (lead guitar), and Jon Cormany (bass).

No Band has a greater collection for life as a whole, and has been more there for me in my life, more than any other artist or medium. Simply put it is the most complete collection of music as it has something for EVERYONE. As technically impressive as this album is, it is messy. Having the multi tracks released to the public gives you a chance to dissect these songs. Upon doing this I found that much of the coolest riffs and hooks on this album gets drowned out by far to many layers or Reznor and Ross.

The album has two levels: loud ( 1,000,000 features all the chainsaw- and motorcycle engine-guitars we’ve come to expect from NIN) and soft ( Lights in the Sky is a tuneless, minimalist piano dirge). One of the few exceptions is Corona Radiata, which slowly builds from spacey arpeggios and planetarium atmospherics to a quiet storm of ambient house beats and distant guitar drones. By 2005, the long gaps between each new Nine Inch Nails album made Reznor’s shtick stick, even while the lapse in time magnified the adolescence of his angst and upped the musical stakes to heights he could never reach. And on With Teeth, he didn’t even seem to try.
