Paradise Lost - Symbol Of Life (2002).
Elgart's work under his own name includes versions of jazz standards such as Solar by Miles Davis as well as the sort of material associated with Najee. His broad range of musical interests is also reflected in his technical abilities, his mastery of both keyboard and reed instruments, as well as a sure hand at the mixing console. He has a reputation as a producer with an attention to detail that is still going strong even after Sherlock Holmes has gone to sleep.
Signs of Life is the debut album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 19 January 2005 and debuted at number-one on the Finnish charts. The album was certified platinum on 26 April 2006 and remained in the Top 40 for more than one year (56 weeks).
European musicians seem fond of having Elgart around, as he has appeared in a steady series of interesting bands through the 80's and 90's, with no signs of letting up. He will frequently have a superb rhythm section partner, such as Dave Holland on recordings with trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, or fine bassists such as Ed Schuller and Wayne Darling.
Lawrence Joseph Elgart (March 20, 1922 – August 29, 2017) was an American jazz bandleader. With his brother Les, he recorded "Bandstand Boogie", the theme to the long-running dance show American Bandstand. Elgart was born in 1922 in New London, Connecticut, four years younger than his brother, Les, and grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. Their mother was a concert pianist; their father also played piano, though not professionally. Larry and Les both attended Pompton Lakes High School.
