The ferocious debut by a Seattle-based punk and grindcore band, Sleepwell Deconstructor adds a gleaming edge of arty dissonance to a blisteringly assaultive set of 12 songs. This isn't total noise, though; the occasional AC/DC-ish guitar melody ("Garlic Breakfast" seems to consciously echo "Thunderstruck") keeps the rock rolling, as do the hammering drums.

You've still got that fast, raging grind feel that the first track debuted but there are some great technical parts throughout the album that are introduced, here with some technical flares broken up by a great bridge. After this track, it's clear that Trap Them can mold their older and newer influences into one coherent mix of older grind and d-beat with a modern twist.

Trap Them were an American grindcore band based in Boston, Massachusetts and Seattle, Washington. Trap Them's influences include hardcore punk bands, such as Black Flag, Born Against, and Tragedy; metal bands like Dismember and Entombed (whose "buzzsaw" guitar tone create the main guitar sound for Trap Them), and experimental bands like Swans. Ryan McKenney's lyrics tend to deal with issues both personal and political, while recent material has also contained a conceptual element to its lyricism
