Robert Henry Keys (December 18, 1943 – December 2, 2014) was an American saxophonist who performed with other musicians as a member of several horn sections of the 1970s. He appears on albums by the Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Harry Nilsson, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, George Harrison, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker and other prominent musicians. Keys played on hundreds of recordings and was a touring musician from 1956 until his death in 2014.

Bobby Keys' self-titled debut is a bit of an odd beast. He's got one of the most amazing résumés in rock music as a sideman, so it's no surprise that there's quite a lineup on this album. Horn charts were by Keys' cohort Jim Price (who also played trumpet and keyboards) and the album was produced by Keys, Jim Gordon, and Andy Johns

Bobby Keys ‎– Bobby Keys. Label: Wounded Bird Records ‎– WOU 6141. Format: CD, Album, Reissue. Country: US. Released: 2016. I love this album, but this CD sounds atrocious. It distorts like crazy. Sounds like a homemade cassette recording of the original LP got transferred to digital with all the needles in the red. Get the Japanese CD, WPCR-16470, it sounds much better and at the moment is pretty cheap for a Japanese CD. Reply Notify me Helpful.
