Ché was an American stoner rock band founded by former Kyuss drummer Brant Bjork, former Queens of the Stone Age drummer Alfredo Hernández, and Unida.

Sounds of Liberation released one self-titled record in 1972. It reflected the African American spirit of self-determination in an era that also birthed independent labels like Detroit’s Tribe Records, Oakland’s Black Jazz, and Charlies Tolliver's and Stanley Cowell's Strata East. SOL was long sought on the collector’s market and thought an all but lost grail until Jamal and Lancaster approached Porter Records' Luke Mosling; he agreed to release it unheard.

Sounds of Liberation was the only studio album by the short-lived desert/stoner rock band Ché, initially released in 2000 via Man's Ruin Records. Sounds of Liberation came at a rough time in Brant's career with him "hungry to write songs" and "dealing with a gnarly breakup" along with Alfredo having just left Queens of the Stone Age and Dave Dinsmore having just left Unida, motivating the three musicians to write and record an album together
