Vials of Wrath is known for making quality albums, but I prefer this album to the later ones. I like the variety of approaches and sounds on this one, which has a more pronounced death metal flavor than the black metal primacy of the later albums. The vocals I especially respond to more on this one. This is a standout in works of metal.
