Fever Ray is the debut solo studio album by Fever Ray, an alias of Karin Dreijer of Swedish electronic music duo The Knife. It was released on 12 January 2009 by Rabid Records. The album spawned four singles: "If I Had a Heart", "When I Grow Up", "Triangle Walks" and "Seven". Fever Ray was lauded by music critics.

Fever Ray: Swedish singer-songwriter and record producer. She was one half of the electronic music duo the Knife, formed with her brother Olof Dreijer. Dreijer was previously the vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Honey Is Cool. Dreijer released her debut solo album under the alias Fever Ray in January 2009. I've loved and listened to this album many times on other formats and am very familiar with it. Or so I thoughtThis record is fantastic! Brings the album to life. I was unaware there were 2 different pressings, fortunately I got lucky and clicked on the decent one, many folk aren't best pleased with the other. Remarkable album

Just had a copy arrive and it's labels are different. They are mat finished with one small groove around the spindle hole and everything ticks the box of this release but it's stamped on the run out www.gzvinyl.com 1798955 - A along with the 83721 1A RABIDT 039 stamped matrices. So the question is...Is this the 2009 pressing manufactured in a different plant needing its own listing or a later version? Either way there seems to be no mention of GZvinyl anywhere online i can find.

This is a comically bad pressing. Both sides look like an abused record pressed 25 years ago. Completely hazy throughout, patches of microscratch areas all over, side A has a HUGE vertical scratch that causes an audible tick throughout half of "When I Grow Up," the list goes on. Fortunately mine isn't warped like others, but it might as well be.Fortunately the music is fantastic so it almost makes up for it, but I'm definitely looking forward to a reissue that is (hopefully) better quality.

My copy is not pressed off-center. It does have an edge warp that is most noticeable on Side A. Surface noise is common on both sides. The paper sleeve the LP came in scuffed the hell out of the disc.

Can anyone confirm that in the 2018 edition the lyrics inlay is white with black letters? That would be a difference to the 2009 edition that came with a black inlay with white letters...

I don't have the Mute pressing but my copy of this Rabid reissue is pretty decent. Flat, quiet, good mastering (same as the first pressing I assume)... really nice pressing this one!

This is the quintessential album, most promising and beautifully done, Tracks that stand out for me.. Triangle Walks and the amazingly 'I'm Not Done' absolutely outstanding, amazingly arranged. Can't imagine if this ever gets remixed! Let's hope!

Yup, this pressing is a disaster. My turntable arm looks like a spinning top during Keep The Streets Empty, resulting in a song-ruining wavering effect on the main synth line. It sounds like someone is applying pressure on and off to a cassette player. It’s staggeringly awful

Yeap, I bought my copy here at Discogs, coming from the US. It was sealed, but the quality of the pressing is worse, many visible and hearable lines & scratches. Most anoying is the cut of the center hole. The tone arm of my Thorens is swinging like hell. Very dissapointing!!

The version I have has Cat# 9048-1 and the same barcode as the 9408-1 edition listed on here. Seems unlikely that it's a different version so I'm thinking that's probably a typo?

B-b-brilliant solo album release from Karin Dreijer Andersson (singer in The Knife). She continues in the same style as the last release from The Knife. We all know "Silent Shout", an epic electro classic, and 'If I Had A Heart' also has what it takes to be a classic. Honestly I didn't care much for it the first time I heard it, but now after listening to it sometimes I simply love it! It will never be as good as "Silent Shout", 'cause that's almost impossible, but anyway this is pure quality. And the same goes for the rest of the album, it's simply brilliant. Much elements taken from Knife's earlier singles, but now in a more leftfield/drumming style. But still with the electro sounds from the album "Silent Shout" and the eastern-europe voice from the album "Deep Cuts". Gorgeous jungle sounds are found in 'Triangle Walks' and superb use of drums and whistles can be heard in 'Seven'. And what about the last track, 'Coconut', it's excellent! 'When I Grow Up' will also stand out as one of the best songs on this album! This album will grow more for each listening. A must have! 5/5
