Gervase de Peyer recorded an excellent Clarinet concerto with Peter Maag/LPO/Decca and repeats that effort with the Amadeus Quartet. I also recommend the bass clarinet version with Thea King and the Gabrieli Quartet/Hyperion, It deserves a hearing because it sounds to me more like what Mozart had in mind. The more traditional clarinet will not preserve the lower registers . those amenable to the bass clarinet. Lothar Koch plays the oboe quartet convincingly // the wonderful work in the Divertimento k251 (coupled with the Divertimento k247). Lothar Koch was one of the principal oboists of the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan. The recordings produced by these soloists, along with the reputable Amadeus Quartet, are clear, crisp, and brisk renditions of the timeless pieces featured on this CD.
