Matthews, Wright & King. Composed by Raymond Matthews. Matthews, Wright & King.

Matthews, Wright & King was an American country music group formed in 1991. The band, Raymond Matthews (born October 13, 1956), Woody Wright (born October 10, 1957) and Tony King (born June 27, 1957), was put together by Columbia Records producer Larry Strickland after Shenandoah left the label, as an attempt to keep a viable country band on that label. The trio dissolved shortly after the release of their second album, Dream Seekers. Since disbanding, Tony King joined Brooks & Dunn's backing band and was also briefly engaged to Wynonna Judd, Woody Wright found success as a gospel songwriter, producer and solo artist, while Raymond Matthews returned to his native Alabama and a successful contracting business. In 2013, Raymond Matthews and his daughter, Ashley Matthews Mobley, released an album entitled Come Home.

Live On is the tenth studio album from The Seekers. The album is the only Seekers' album to feature the vocals of Australian singer, Julie Anthony. In October 1988, The Seekers re-formed and sang "The Carnival is Over" to close the World Expo 88 in Brisbane.

Matthews, Wright & King were a studio assembly masterminded by Columbia Nashville producer Larry Strickland. At the time (the early '90s), Shenandoah had drowned under a wave of bad publicity, lawsuits, and label woes. It was Columbia's idea to step into the breach left by Shenandoah's departure. Dream Seekers followed in 1993, but was met with even less enthusiasm, and soon after the trio dissolved. Tony King joined Brooks & Dunn's backing band in 1995; Woody Wright founded an inspirational country/gospel trio with Michael Sykes and David Ponder; and Raymond Matthews embarked on a solo career. Incidentally, Shenandoah reunited on a different label and continued to release music throughout the 1990s). Their highest charting single, "The Power of Love," peaked at on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in 1992. It was the title track of their debut album, issued that year on Columbia Records.
