Sanity Obscure is the second album by the Christian thrash metal band Believer, published in 1990 by . Records and a year later by Roadrunner Records. Several mainstream magazines praised the album. Sanity Obscure begins with an intro called "Teddy Bears", in which a musical box tune distorts into obscurity.
The end of time is drawing near The angels prepare for the harvest Separation of the wicked and righteous The corrupt the fire infest. Sifting of humanity Extirpation of the heathen Cast into the infinite holocaust Where time's end is never seen. Signs of the end have. come Nation will rise against nation Famines wage war on the land The birth pains have begun. These omens of sanity are obscured Hidden from the insane minds Though seeing they do not see They hear but understanding can't find
Sanity Obscure (1990) by Believer. Labels: Roadrunner Records. Genres: Progressive Thrash Metal . Believer Discography. Extraction from Mortality.
Sanity Obscure received a wider audience than Extraction from Mortality. Although Sanity Obscure never really became popular, several mainstream magazines praised the album. According to Jeff Wagner who is an American writer and published author and heavy metal blogger, the song Dies Irae foreshadowed the operatic approach of future metal bands such as Therion and Nightwish.
Sanity Obscure" is the 2nd full-length studio album by US thrash metal act Believer. The album was first released through . Records in 1990 and then again in 1991 through Roadrunner Records. Thereīs been a change in the lineup since "Extraction from Mortality (1989)" as Howe Kraft has been replaced by new bassist Wyatt Robertson
I could listen to this album for days on end just for the gain, which is insane. And I'd probably give my right pinky to get the EQ parameters Believer used to dial in their guitar tone. Applied to the palm-muted technical riffs, and in combination with the drums and the bass, the effect is simply devastating. Apart from that, three things need to be said about this album. First, the riffing speed is uncanny at times.
