The New Edge is the seventh album by Acoustic Alchemy, released on March 16, 1993. The album is critically regarded as one of Acoustic Alchemy's better albums, despite only having one track, "Cool as a Rule", on their standard set-list. There are two different versions of the album. The New Edge was released with an extra track on the European release. The eleventh track, "Act of Innocence", was written in three time. This extends the total length of the disc to 47 minutes.

This is a great album - every cut is good. I know others who like it as much as I do. I don't like all the Acoustic Alchemy CD's, but I feel they're at or very near the top of their form on New Edge. I gifted it to two other friends recently, and I just played it for a week in my truck before switching to another Acoustic Alchemy CD. I actually do have hundreds of CD's by dozens of other groups, but having just bought two CD's by Acoustic, I'm hooked again.
