is the fourth studio album by German musician Nico. It was recorded in 1973 and produced by John Cale. It was released in November 1974, on record label Island. Nico had performed two songs from the album in concert several years prior to the album release: "Secret Side" had been performed at a John Peel session for the BBC on February 2, 1971 and she had also performed "You Forget to Answer" on TV in France and the Netherlands in early 1972.

Nico decided that the new album was to be a memorial to her soul-brother Jim Morrison with whom she had a passionate affair. He taught me to write songs. I never though that I could, because when you come out of the fashion busines. e really inspired me a lot. It was like looking in a mirror then. To honour his passing she picked her favourite Doors song The End as the title track to the new album. Nico’s recording comfortably eclipses the darkness of the Doors' original version, and the song remained a mesmerizing highlight of her live set for the rest of her life.

In the End (stylised as in the end) is the eighth and final studio album by the Irish alternative rock band the Cranberries, released on 26 April 2019 by BMG. It is the band’s first release since the death of singer Dolores O'Riordan, who died on 15 January 2018, though her vocals are featured posthumously.

In fact she only made one album which remotely fit that bill - this one - and it's a symbol of its significance that even the cliché emerges as a thing of stunning beauty. Her first album following three years of rumor and speculation, The End was consciously designed to highlight the Nico of already pertinent myth.

But "Das Lied der Deutschen" - "Deutschland Uber Alles" - has connotations which neither tribute nor parody could ever undermine. It is only in the '90s that even Germany has reclaimed the anthem for its own.
