His first Common Factor production, the 1000 EP, appeared on Belgium's SSR in 1996. After being rejected by several British labels, he sent tapes to Detroit's Planet E Recordings. By mid-1998, Planet E head Carl Craig released Calingaert's "In To" single. The Expanded EP followed later that year, and in 1999 Planet E issued the debut Common Factor album, Dreams of Elsewhere. His follow-up single "Pisces Groove" appeared later in 1999.

Greatest Common Factor. The highest number that divides exactly into two or more numbers. It is the "greatest" thing for simplifying fractions! Let's start with an Example. Earlier we found that the Common Factors of 12 and 30 are 1, 2, 3 and 6, and so the Greatest Common Factor is 6. So the largest number we can divide both 12 and 30 exactly by is 6, like this: ÷ 6.

In my opinion one of the most versatile, groovy and thrilling house records ever. All tunes seem to fit into a certain concept, yet a concept that you can't really name and yet all four different in their own ways. They all have some bits & pieces of old house and disco records in it (like the short vocal sample in "Feel what I feel" taken from the 1986 Trax classic "Sensuous Woman Goes Disco"). They all make the perfect balance between "hands up" and deep grooves. The B2 track is like a bit of an outro, it's no 4-to-the-floor track, more downbeat. Yet it fits into the perfect picture this record is drawing.
