Summertime" is an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The song soon became a popular and much recorded jazz standard, described as "without doubt. one of the finest songs the composer ever wrote.

Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing)" is a 1936 song, written by Louis Prima, that has become one of the definitive songs of the big band and swing era. Although written by Prima, it is often most associated with Benny Goodman. The song has since been covered by numerous artists. The Essential Benny Goodman.

Composed by Louis Prima; initial vocal arrangement by Jimmy Mundy. Recorded by Benny Goodman and His Orchestra on July 6, 1937 for Victor in Hollywood, CA. Benny Goodman, clarinet, directing: Harry James, first trumpet; Ziggy Elman and Chris Griffin, trumpets; Murray McEachern and Red Ballard, trombones; Hymie Shertzer first alto saxophone; George Koenig, alto saxophone; Arthur Rollini and Vido Musso, tenor saxophones; Jess Stacy, piano; Allan Reuss, guitar; Harry Goodman, bass; Gene Krupa, drums. During the entire time Benny Goodman and his band were featured on the Camel Caravan, they were constantly in great demand in theaters and ballrooms, and worked as hard as it is possible to work. The Goodman band was able to demand top-dollar wherever it performed.

Time to sit back and unwind, trill the breezy singers at the chorus. We thought you’d never as. Sophie Harris. As written by George Gershwin and DuBose Heyward for the seminal 1935 American folk opera Porgy & Bess, it’s a lullaby sung by a poor young mother in the slums of South Carolina, assuring her child of a tranquil world that is nowhere around them. Fish don’t jump on Catfish Row, and the living sure as hell isn’t easy.
