Nathan Moomaw's debut album under his Moomaw Collective moniker contains ten songs that find him never quite able to hit the mark for which he was aiming. While following along the lines of most singer/songwriters, he misses out on what makes Nick Drake, Mark Kozelek, and the like great at their craft: sincerity and honesty. Almost every single aspect of this album - the songwriting, the vocals, the guitar playing, the lyrics - seems forced or just plain odd. Sometimes it's the fault of the production, thus not allowing the vocals to come across as they might have been intended.
