Quick Step & Side Kick is the third studio album by the British synthpop group Thompson Twins. It was released in February 1983, and was their first album to be released as a trio (the band consisted of up to seven members during previous releases). The album reached no. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified Platinum by the BPI. In the United States and Canada, the album was titled simply as Side Kicks, and was only the second Thompson Twins album to be released there.

Thompson Twins were a British pop band that formed in April 1977. Initially a new wave group, they switched to a more mainstream pop sound and achieved considerable popularity from 1983, scoring a string of hits in the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the world. In 1993, they changed their name to Babble, to reflect their change in music from new wave to dub-influenced chill-out. They continued as Babble through 1996, at which point the group permanently dissolved.

Side Kicks is the American version of the Thompson Twins' third album, Quick Step & Side Kick, featuring the same songs in a different sequencing. The record was the first the group recorded as a trio and, not coincidentally, it finds them discovering their signature dance-inflected synth-pop sound. The singles "Love on Your Side" and "In the Name of Love" are the high points, but it's surprising how many of the remaining songs are enjoyable, cleverly crafted and catchy synth-pop gems.

This is a classic Thompson Twins concert from the Side Kicks era. Many fans with the worn out VHS tape and seemingly low quality LaserDisc of this performance have been eagerly awaiting the DVD release of this, or any Thompson Twins material. The hope is this is coming from a high quality master source and not just a VHS tape. In general, you'll hear nearly every song from "Sidekicks", and a few from their previous album release "In the Name of Love". In terms of production, this is an example of early-80's concerts "on a budget".
