Because it’s impossible to pin Emancipator to a specific genre, his fans struggle to describe the music: Um, it’s really pretty, but like with SICK beats. Emancipator’s debut album ‘Soon It Will Be Cold Enough’ beautifully mixes hip hop beats with guitar feedback and a delicate piano melody, Rolling Stone says. You can feel his energy when he performs. His face lights up and you can see how much he enjoys the music. Because it’s impossible to pin Emancipator to a specific genre, his fans struggle to describe the music: Um, it’s really pretty, but like with SICK beats. released September 8, 2009.

is the matrix/runout for side A = 110342E1/A? or do i have the 2016 press?

There are runouts listed on both versions, and I'm pretty sure they are the same on both. I have the 2013 press and the runout on side A is 110342E1/A like you said. However, I'm pretty sure it's the same on the 2016 version. Check the edit release history to follow along with updates.

the GZ Digital number seems to refer to a 2014 mastering. Since there are no runouts listed on either first or repress, it is unclear if they both feature the same runouts...

Douglas Appling is an American downtempo/trip hop artist. Soon it will be cold enough is his first album of style just said a moment ago. Having said this, the album uses a more number of styles which include modern classical and jazz. The melodies are refreshing and amorous in the form of well used guitars, piano and violins, and are placed under the garb of trip hop beats. Sometimes, they are so hidden that it forces the listener to give a proper hearing.Vocals pay off really well, adding life to the album. Eve is a pure trip hop beat track. The track along with the beat and vocals get amplified by bass sound at the end. The result is that the listener gets struck in awe.Production from this album and his second album ”Safe in the steep hills” was later used by rapper Sadistik on his debut album Balancing Act. Definitely - an album to check out. What was out initially as a self-released album, it has now become one of all-time favorite albums for many of the electronic listeners. Recommended album for the lovers of that mellow sound.

One of my favorite albums , Doug is a legend!

Beside 'Father King' and 'Shook' the second best track from the original album - 'Maps' - is missing. And that downgrades this whole release substantialy - unfortunately.

When Nujabes remastered SIWBCE (the version now available) he omitted "Father King" and "Maps". As for why, I'm not sure.

You were both kind of right and kind of wrong haha. Although 'Father King' and 'Maps' were on the original US CD of this album, they weren't on any subsequent (or digital) releases of the album. But I didn't even realize you mentioned 'Shook' in your original comment...that song has never been on any version of 'Soon It Will Be Cold Enough'...in fact it's not even an original song, but a mashup remix of Mobb Deep/Sigur Ros (released in 2011, 5 years after SIWBCE). So while your hope of having 'Father King' and 'Maps' on this record was reasonable and understandably disappointing, your expectation that 'Shook' would be on the album is a bit absurd considering it's not an original track and came out 5 years after the album.

Ocho710 just needs to get his facts and grammar straight. Just have a look at the first releases on CD and digital from 2006.Anyway, fyi, they released a Maps and Father King EP including versions now: http://tinyurl.com/mapsfatherking

Don't be rude, dude. Father King and Maps were originally on the original US CD release of this album, so you sound ignorant actually. But for some reason, Doug removed those 2 tracks from all subsequent releases, digital or otherwise. But they were both on the original CD release. Idk why he removed them, maybe cuz they were a slightly different style from the rest of the album. But I agree, it's a bummer that they're not on the vinyl release because those are 2 of my favorite Emancipator tracks. Still a great album, but this would be one of the favorites in my collection if it had Father King and Maps on it!

Amanu2408 is right, the MP3 version I have has those songs and they're incredible, a shame they're not on the LP
Gamba Gamba
Those tracks are not even on this album, that downgrades you credibility substantially. Sorry your ignorant??
