Feelgood (stylized as D℞. Feelgood) is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on September 1, 1989. Feelgood topped the Billboard 200 chart (which is the band's only album to claim this position as of 2019), and was the first album Mötley Crüe recorded after their quest for sobriety and rehabilitation in 1989. In addition to being Mötley Crüe's best selling album, it is highly regarded by music critics and fans as the band's best studio album.

hey call Dr. Feelgood He's the one that makes ya feel alright He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood. He'll tell you he's the king Of thes barrio streets Moving up to shangri-la Came by his wealth as a matter of luck Says he never broke no law Two time loser running out of juice Time to move out quick Heard a rumour going round Jimmy's going down This time it's gonna stick. She goes down She goes down She goes down Down, down, down. Sassy little lassie Walking right past me Down in Tennessee Always a lady I love Southern ladies They just know how to please.

With Bob Rock serving as producer, the . headbangers savored the joys of trashy, unapologetically decadent fun on Dr. Feelgood - an album that made no pretense at being anything else. While nothing here is quite as commanding as "Shout at the Devil," "Wild Side," or "Live Wire," such hook-oriented MTV smashes as "Kickstart My Heart," "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)," and the title song are infectious and hard to resist, and helped make this the best-selling Mötley Crüe album ever, as well as providing their first.

Release Date: September 1, 1989.

Feelgood also showed a level of emotional maturity rarely seen from Nikki in the years since Too Fast For Love. Time for Change’ is the obligatory power ballad (of which there are three) that represents the grown up Nikki’s perspective on the same issues he was so youthfully passionate about on Shout At The Devil. Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)’ puts a humorous spin on a bitter break-up and ‘Without You’ is a touching love song made all the more powerful by Vince’s most emotive vocal performance to date. Feelgood went on to break every record the band had set for themselves: it became their first number one album, produced more hit singles than they could ever have imagined, and it re-established them as one of the best rock bands on the planet.

True to form, Dr. Feelgood indulges in the same diet of sex, drugs and rock‘n’roll which fuelled each of its four predecessors. Mötley Crüe haven’t always benefitted from polished production, but courtesy of studio legend Bob Rock (The Cult, Metallica, Bon Jovi) Dr. Feelgood boasts a punchy, powerful sound. The album spawned no fewer than five singles, all of which cracked the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The first of these – the title track itself – was the most successful, with the high-energy Kickstart My Heart and Same Ol' Situation (. following a similar raunchy groove.
