Power Play is the tenth studio album by the Canadian rock band April Wine, released in 1982 (see 1982 in music). Music videos were made for the singles "Enough Is Enough", "If You See Kay", and "Tell Me Why". Power Play failed to meet the critical acclaim of the band's previous album, but the single "Enough Is Enough" managed to reach on the Billboard Hot 100, spending 8 weeks on the chart. The album itself peaked at on Billboard's 200 Album chart, remaining there for 20 weeks.

So it was quite surprising when their hot streak came to a screeching halt with the release of 1983's terribly humdrum Power Play. If only this mediocrity could have been blamed on a change of musical direction, new personnel, or another mysterious force of nature, but the album simply lacks good songs and perhaps musical mastermind Myles Goodwyn had simply run out of creative steam. Not that the album is a complete wash-out, as the band manages to pull it together on a few mid-paced rockers like "Anything You want, You got It" and "Enough Is Enough

This more tame and relaxed album was the result of events that were taking place in the band members’ lives. The wives of Myles, Steve and Jerry all gave birth during the recording of this album, turning these reckless rockers into fathers. This album didn’t reach the height of success that The Nature Of The Beast had, but the video clips made for each and every track on the record did succeed in selling hundreds of thousands of copies to loyal April Wine fans. 01. April Wine's "Nature Of The Beast", is probably their best overall album. Produced by Myles Goodwyn and the late Mike Stone (Journey, Queen and Asia), they went to London, England, and put together one hell of an album. Myles Goodwyn, Brian Greenway, Gary Moffet, Jerry Mercer and Steve Lang are all top notch players here. On the album "Power Play", (1982), again produced by Myles and Mike Stone, but this time in Quebec. I never was a big fan of this album to begin with, but years of inactivity really made me understand this album. The album opens with the Judas Priest sounding (Yes Judas Priest), "Anything You Want, You Got It", a solid rock tune, followed by a top 50 hit "Enough Is Enough", "If You See Kay", never paid attention to the word play here before, until a few years ago, a nice mid-tempo piece, this was another hot 100 entry.
