The 2 DVD set "LIVE on St. Patrick's Day" which was filmed at The Port Theatre on Vancouver Island and Lismore, Ireland, was released in 2017. Rover Records and touring. The band continued to tour and record throughout the next 30 years. The release of The Irish Rovers, 50 Years compilation album supported their Farewell To Rovin' Tour which will take a few years to complete. In 2018, Wilcil McDowell retired from touring and keyboardist Morris Crum replaced him, leaving George Millar as the only remaining current member tied to the 1960s lineup.

This year’s album release, The Scottish Album pays tribute and reflects the Scottish influence on their Northern Irish roots. Last year, their previous album The Unicorn, the Continuing Story gave us the long-awaited sequel to their famed Unicorn song. Among their many honours, the Rovers have recently been officially honored as one of Ireland’s greatest émigrés by Ireland’s newest and most state of the art museum, EPIC Ireland in Dublin. On tour in 2015 the Rovers released, The Irish Rovers – 50 Years triple CD, (known as ‘The Greatest of The Greatest Hits’) and more recently the LIVE on St. Patrick’s Day double CD set which was recorded when the Rovers filmed their final DVD of the same name which includes a whole DVD of extras featuring the lads on a 50th.

St Patrick’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world, especially by Irish communities and organizations. Many people wear an item of green clothing on the day. Parties featuring Irish food and drinks that are dyed in green food color are part of this celebration. Some people plan a pilgrimage to St Patrick’s Purgatory, which is commonly associated with penance and spiritual healing since the early 13th century. It is on Station Island in Lough Derg in County Donegal where St Patrick had a vision promising that all who came to the sanctuary in penitence and faith would receive a pardon for their sins. St Patrick's Day is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) and the Republic of Ireland.

The concert was broadcast into the outdoor plaza where revelers watched while enjoying the Irish Rovers Street Party.
