Epicycle-Jingo Jangle-2008-404. The third album "Jingo Jangle" is a mix of progressive sixties pop sounds firing on all cylinders and Sgt. Pepperisms especially on the track "Girls Don't Rule My World" which has wonderful sonic details in the multi-track piano and orchestral flourishes. The opener "8-Track Mind" brings together Bryds-styled guitar jangle and Cheap Trick riffs in a dense polished production. The piano ballad "Goodbye" is an impressive soulful song along the lines of Billy Joel.

Jingle Jangle is the third studio album released by The Archies, a fictional bubblegum pop band from the Archie comics universe. It was produced by Jeff Barry. It is their first album released on the Kirshner Record label. The album features the hit single "Jingle Jangle". That song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at number 125 on the Billboard Top LPs chart. The following Girls Don’t Rule My World, sounds like . using cheap tricks, and whenever slowing things down to a ballad level, they sound like either one of the musical-twins born 2 days and an ocean away (Day For Night – Brian, You And Me – Macca). Amongst all the Jingo-Jangling, there’s an occasional slightlydelic moment or two to be heard as well.
That said, Epicycle’s new album Jingo Jangle comes pretty close, as close as ex-Jellyfish members Roger Manning Jr, Jason Falkner or Jon Brion have managed in any case. Consisting of brothers Tom and Ellis Clark, Epicycle has the requisite production know how, melodic chops and wacky sense of humor to pull off one of the better powerpop albums of recent times. Apart from the obvious Jellyfish riffs, there is more than a touch of 70s pop-rock legacy in 12 memorable tracks (viz.
