Hans Werner Henze (1 July 1926 – 27 October 2012) was a German composer. His large oeuvre of works is extremely varied in style, having been influenced by serialism, atonality, Stravinsky, Italian music, Arabic music and jazz, as well as traditional schools of German composition. In particular, his stage works reflect "his consistent cultivation of music for the theatre throughout his life".

Michael Rüsenberg will chart a line of his sound art works, starting from the "documentary" orientated work with Hans Ulrich Werner, "Lisboa - a soundscape portrait", 1994, to "Notre Dame de Paris" (working title), 2011, his first work that is not based on field recordings but music recordings of other composers, notably Leonin and Perotin from 13th Century France. Michael Rüsenberg, born 1948, has done jazz-radio since 1973, started his interest in soundart in the early nineties, both as journalist and artist
