Bass – John Levy Piano – Jimmy Jones Violin – Stuff Smith. Rights Society: BIEM. Stuff Smith's Trio Perdido (Shellac, 10") Baronet TR 9. Denmark 1950.

Stuff Smith spent the final two years of his life performing in Europe; this previously unreleased Swiss concert from 1965 was finally released some 36 years later. The violinist is accompanied by stride pianist Henri Chaix, young bassist Michel Guillemin, and fellow American expatriate Wallace Bishop (who had resided in Europe since 1950) on drums.

Violinist Stuff Smith is heard in top form on this set of radio transcriptions from 1943, a time when a musicians strike kept Smith and others off records. Joined by pianist Jimmy Jones (who has plenty of solo space) and bassist John Levy, Smith performs ten songs and, in addition to the accepted versions, there are four alternate takes and three brief incomplete versions

Perdido - Henri Chaix.

Stuff Smith is a swing music album recording by STUFF SMITH released in 1957 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette. Stuff Smith Trio - Asch Records - Stop-Look.
