Leftism is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo Leftfield, released in 1995 on Columbia Records. It contained a mixture of new tracks along with reworked versions of previous Leftfield singles. The album contains guest spots from musicians not associated with dance music at the time such as John Lydon from Public Image Ltd. (and formerly of Sex Pistols) and Toni Halliday from Curve.

Leftfield is a British electronic music group formed in 1989. It began as the duo of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley (the latter formerly of the Rivals and A Man Called Adam). In January 2010 Barnes resurrected Leftfield without Daley and, after touring for a few years, finished writing new material for a third album entitled Alternative Light Source. Daley declined to be involved and is focusing upon his solo career.

Hailed as one of dance music's first major album-length statements, Leftism recalls the anything-goes spirit of the mid-'90s, when the UK's rave culture was opening up to new ideas. Trance-inducing tracks like "Black Flute" and "Space Shanty" paid tribute to long nights in muddy fields, but others-from the sci-fi chirps of "Release the Pressure" to the ambient synths and spoken word of "21st Century Poem"-had wider vistas in mind, including world-music accents and even a John Lydon cameo.
