The Two Sisters" is a Northumbrian murder ballad that recounts the tale of a girl drowned by her sister. It is first known to have appeared on a broadside in 1656 as "The Miller and the King's Daughter. At least 21 English variants exist under several names, including "Minnorie" or "Binnorie", "The Cruel Sister", "The Wind and Rain", "Dreadful Wind and Rain", "Two Sisters", "The Bonny Swans" and the "Bonnie Bows of London"

Women of Ireland" is an instrumental piece by musician Mike Oldfield, originally released in 1996. Originally from the 1996 album Voyager, it also appeared on the compilation XXV: The Essential. The single release "Women of Ireland XXV" includes two mixes of the song along with a reel tune, similar to the ending pieces of the first two Tubular Bells albums.

Two Sisters" is the third track from The Kinks' 1967 album, Something Else by the Kinks. The song was written by Ray Davies. In "Two Sisters", the singer compares sisters Sybilla and Priscilla. Sybilla is a swinging, single "wayward lass", while Priscilla is a married housewife. Priscilla is tired of facing "the drudgery of being wed", with her being said to be "so jealous of her sister

The two girls' faces are extraordinarily refinedrevealing Renoir's new emphasis on draftsmanshipand their porcelain complexions are uncompromised by reflections or shadows. As always Renoir transformed what he saw, infusing nature with the artifice necessary to create harmony
