It’s called Borrell 1, and contains some deliciously ludicrous song ttitles, Pan-European Supermodel Song (Oh! Gina), "Dahlia Allegro" and "Cyrano Masochiste". We've had an exclusive look at the Borrell life plan and can reveal that Borrell I is just the first part of a seven-episode opus. Written in a yo-yo of despair and glamour, Borrell II actually became a global success for Bozza, his biggest album since he accidentally walked into the studio during the recording of the Spiderman soundtrack. The critics loved the deranged lunatic character he’d created, and Borrell was heralded as born again rockstar.

It helps that Borrell 1 breaks from the Razorlight sound so dramatically. There are very few guitars here, and the warm, vibrant music that's so beautifully produced by Trevor Horn centres around piano, percussion and the vibrant saxophone of the Brazilian former-busker, Joao Mello. Borrell will likely take some stick for the seeming pretentiousness of titles such as Cyrano Masochiste, but the song's sk groove is hard to resist, and the doo-wop-influenced Dahlia Allegro is a great little pop song with striking vocal harmonies.

Johnny Borrell claims that the new Razorlight album 'Olympus Sleeping' returns to the essence of the band, as well as reflecting on past 'myths' printed about him and reported outlandish claims. Borrell 1 is the debut studio album by English musician and Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell. It was released in July 2013 under Universal Music. Borrell 1 only sold 594 copies during its first week on sale and it failed to secure a place on the UK Top 100 album chart. Speaking to Drowned in Sound about its poor sales, Borrell said "It is being heard and appreciated by as many people as possible! It is! If that’s 500 people, that’s 500 people. If those are the 500 people that are open enough at this point in time to hear this record, fucking fantastic ma.
