Subsequent to the release of Three Snakes and One Charm, the Black Crowes embarked on a lackluster tour which saw them playing some of the worst shows of their career. Unfocused and unmotivated, the band was plagued by dissention within its ranks and widespread drug abuse, the latter of which would eventually result in the firing of guitarist Marc Ford. Spearheaded by the album's first single "Kicking My Heart Around," the disc boasts an additional lineup of six other number one rock radio tracks including "Jealous Again," "She Talks to Angels," "Thorn in my Pride," "Sting Me," the band's terrific reading of Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle," and the incendiary "Remedy.
