Meyer Kupferman, Composer: Blast of Silence. Composer, songwriter and educator, educated at the High School of Music and Art and Queens College (winning the first La Guardia Award). He was on the faculty of Sarah Lawrence College since 1951, and he joined ASCAP in 1953. He composed six symphonies, six string quartet works and three operas, the titles of which are listed in the "Other Works".

In 1963 after screenings in the Cannes Festival Critics’ section, the Montreal Film Festival, and the Locarno festival where it won the Silver Sail, Hallelujah the Hills, Adolfas Mekas’ first feature film made its US debut at the First New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center on September 14, 1963.
