Dieter Moebius (16 January 1944 – 20 July 2015) was a Swiss-born German electronic musician and composer, best known as a member of the influential krautrock bands Cluster and Harmonia. Moebius was studying art at Berlin's Akademie Grafik and working as a restaurant cook when he met Conrad Schnitzler, founder of the Zodiak Free Arts Lab with Hans-Joachim Roedelius. Double Cut. 4 tracks. He recorded two albums with the bass player Gerd Beerbohm in 1982 and 1983; Strange Music was the first. What became of Beerbohm sadly remains a mystery.

Originally released in 1983, as 'Double Cut' is apparently the second collaboration album put out with Dieter Moebius and a musician (that until now) I've never even heard of - Gerd Beerbohm. Enjoyed all four of this CD reissue's tracks.

The second of two collaborations involving Moebius and Gerd Beerbohm, Double Cut sounds miles away from the relatively harmless electronic/pop experiments of solo work by Moebius or Cluster. Consisting of only four extended tracks, the album expresses the dark side of electronics courtesy of the repetitive trance-state on "Hydrogen" and "Minimotion. Double Cut is much closer to electronic inheritors in the experimental and techno fields than Moebius' usual new age pursuits.
