Anthony Philip Harford (born 19 April 1957), better known by his stage name Tony Martin, is a heavy metal vocalist, best known for his time fronting Black Sabbath, initially from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1996. Martin was the band's second longest serving vocalist after Ozzy Osbourne. He has since been involved in many other projects (such as M3, Misha Calvin, The Cage, Giuntini Project, and Phenomena).

Tony Martin first unleashed his distinctive voice on us on Black Sabbath’s Eternal Idol album in 1987. This was really a critical point for the band and Martin contributed to putting the band back on its feet again. For me, the underrated Martin-era actually produced some of the finest Black Sabbath albums. The latter was released in 1995 and is to date the last Black Sabbath album. Though he did sing on other people’s albums and occasionally participated in some different projects, it wasn’t until ten years after Forbidden that we got another proper solo album from Martin: 2005’s Scream. The vocals are distinctively Tony Martin and he has lost nothing of his vocal power during his near ten year absence from the music business.

The album will have 10 tracks, mostly written by Martin and McClellan and some by Martin alone. Apart from the title track of ‘THORNZ’ – the story of a woman struggling with being abused, there is the previously cited ‘BOOK OF SHADOWS’ still in the track list along with ‘NO SHAME AT ALL’, ‘AS THE WORLD BURNS’ and ‘DAMNED BY YOU’ amongst others. This promises to open your ears and get your pulse racing. He says at 60 years old it is likely to be his last solo project but doesn’t rule out future embellishments to his solo career. He added that it would not affect any re connection with SABBATH guitarist TONY IOMMI if and when that happens.
