From Love Of Diagrams' debut album 'Mosaic', out now through Matador/Remote Control.

Love of Diagrams are an Australian indie rock band formed in 2001. Their sound is characterised by a mix of energetic drumming, angular guitar and bass riffs, and call-and-response vocals. Love of Diagrams were formed in Melbourne in 2001 by Monika Fikerle on drums, Luke Horton on guitar and vocals, and Antonia Sellbach on vocals and bass guitar

Unlike many 2000s bands drawing from the sounds of '70s and '80s, Love of Diagrams remains true to the spirit of that era, never feeling too studied or calculated as they use Pylon, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and The Real Ramona-era Throwing Muses as inspiration for their own bracing-yet-sleek sound. Two of Mosaic's strongest tracks, "The Pace and the Patience" and "Pyramid," appeared on the Love of Diagrams EP that marked the band's Matador debut, and they still set the tone for the rest of the album

This album has an average beat per minute of 146 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 96/194 BPM). See its BPM profile at the bottom of the page. Album starts at 194BPM, ends at BPM (-194), with tempos within the -BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing). Recent albums by Love of Diagrams.

Love Of Diagrams are an ave (phew!) band from Melbourne. Absurd genre classifications aside, they signed on Matador last year and Mosaic, their sophomore effort, was released on the same. Good going Australia!" you say" Unfortunately, there's very little substance here worth your praise, and for that matter, your time. The trio, led by the particularly stingy Monika Fikerle, find their feet in an angular and choppy riff driven Rock that has the possibility of being unique but sadly ends up sounding like a bargain bin imitation. The album bobbles around in this effervescent, disjointed atmosphere and ever so often you feel like shouting "Just let go already!". Form And Function, the album opener, crashes around for a while, promising much with furious downstrokes, muting and Sonic Youth styled riffs.
