Skullcave’s full-length debut is a brilliant addition to the increasingly impressive modern doom-gaze canon. A good illustration of this comes right at the start of the album with the opening track. I’m usually not a fan of intro tracks, but 3-minute opener ‘Escape’ is one of the best album openers that I’ve heard all year.
